WCREU will again become the number one union, Lemp will have a one-sided victory, UPS will be better than OPS: Kam. Galav
quota. General Secretary of West Central Railway Employees Union (WCREU). Mukesh Galav has said that he will continue to make efforts to make UPS better than OPS. In place of NPS, the government has announced to provide UPS, in which 80 percent benefits will be available like OPS, but we are not satisfied with it at all, we are continuously pressurizing to make it better than OPS. Also, if the government hesitates in constituting the Eighth Pay Commission, we will fight tooth and nail. Mr. Galav said this in discussion with journalists.
Assistant General Secretary of AIRF and General Secretary of WCREU. Mukesh Galav said that the voting for union recognition that is going to be held on 4th, 5th and 6th December is very important as compared to other elections. This will decide the future of railway employees, as other organizations work to promote their personal interests instead of raising issues of employees’ interest, whereas AIRF/WCREU keeps only and only the interests of railway employees paramount and hence For this, every comrade of the union works 24 hours, 365 days. Shri Galav said that like the previous elections, this time also the railway employees are getting full support for the union’s election symbol, Lamp, and the employees are desperate to make it the number one union once again.
Our resolve is to make UPS better than OPS.
Comrade Mukesh Galav, General Secretary of the Union, said that the struggle started by AIRF/WCREU for OPS in place of NPS has resulted in success in the form of UPS, but the benefits are not available like OPS in which PF amount is included in OPS. Which was deducted from the employee’s monthly salary till retirement and deposited in the PF account, which was paid to the employee along with effective interest on retirement, but this provision is not there in the present UPS. For which WCREU/AIRF is struggling to get the amount deposited in UPS paid along with interest at the time of employee’s retirement. Which will definitely be achieved by fighting with the government. Till then the struggle of WCREU/AIRF will continue to make UPS better than OPS.
Pressure has been put on the Center for the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission.
Similarly, WCREU/AIRF is strongly pressurizing the government to constitute the Eighth Pay Commission. WCREU/AIRF is making strong efforts to get the 8th Pay Commission to the railway employees at the right time, which will increase the salary and promotion opportunities of the railway employees. Besides, WCREU/AIRF is also strongly protesting against the privatization of Railways. Privatization will not be allowed in the Railways under any circumstances.
AIRF/WCREU has full focus on these demands
Comrade Mukesh Galav said that the pending demands of the railway employees like providing all the facilities available in OPS, stopping the privatization of railways, payment of 18 months’ outstanding DA, 8th Pay Commission, hard ship and risk allowance to all categories working on the tracks, etc. Allowance, LDCE open to all, opening up promotion opportunities up to 4600 grade pay for all employees, MACPS Getting 8,16,24,32 instead of 10,20,30, getting MACPS promoted on the basis of good APAR, getting 20 percent of the child care leave given to women reinstated, all the employees working in the workshop. Increase in incentive rate on the basis of increased lot, all Group C and D employees will be given night duty and NH without ceiling limit. The struggle of the Union and the Federation will continue till the demands of getting the payment made, post surrender stopped, ban on creation removed, Cadre Restructuring Committee recommendations finalized and implemented etc. are met.
