In Mainpuri, a soldier killed his own wife who was becoming an obstacle in their love affair. Sarita, a resident of village Samechipur in Farrukhabad district, was married to Gaurav, a resident of village Nahili in Ghiror police station area of Mainpuri in 2013. . Gaurav is posted in the Indian Army. Both also have two children.
Sarita’s family members allege that Gaurav was in a relationship with another woman. When Sarita came to know about this, she complained to her in-laws, father-in-law and brother-in-law. After which Sarita’s in-laws started harassing her. Fed up with this, Sarita told this to her parents. Panchayat was also held several times regarding this issue. But the matter was not resolved.
