When will the suspense of CM Face end in Maharashtra? Know why Modi government rejected Bihar formula
Even 4 days after the results of Maharashtra Elections 2024, no decision has been taken regarding the post of Chief Minister. Who will hold the top post in Maharashtra? Devendra Fadnavis or Eknath Shinde. There is a discussion going on between the Mahayuti alliance regarding this. Meanwhile, BJP has indicated that there is no need to repeat the Bihar formula for the post of CM in the state. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, CM Eknath Shinde had submitted his resignation to Governor CP Radhakrishnan. However, he will remain on the post of acting CM till the new CM takes oath.
At the same time, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla, while talking about Shiv Sena adopting Shinde’s Bihar model, said that NDA had talked about making Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister if it gets majority in Bihar elections 2020. This announcement was made before the elections. No such commitment has been made with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. Secondly, we formed an alliance with JDU in Bihar so that BJP can make inroads in the state.
BJP rejected Bihar model
Speaking to Indian Express, Prem Shukla said that the Bihar model cannot be implemented in Maharashtra. We have a strong organizational base in Maharashtra. Apart from this, before the elections it was never said from our side that if Mahayuti gets majority then CM Eknath Shinde will become the CM. Apart from this, our top leadership had already made it clear that the decision regarding CM will be taken after the election results.
I am unhappy with BJP’s rhetoric
Meanwhile, the BJP central leadership has told Shinde that the post of CM will remain with the party. At the same time, the BJP high command has also expressed displeasure over the displeasure being expressed by Shiv Sena leaders over his claim for the post of CM. Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat said on Tuesday that the decision on the post of Maharashtra CM will be taken on Wednesday. In an interview given to PTI, Sanjay Shirsat said that the three leaders will meet in the evening and take an appropriate decision.
Union Minister gave these two offers to Shinde
Earlier on Tuesday, Shirsat had said that since the assembly elections were fought under the leadership of Shinde, people are under the impression that he should remain the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, RPI convenor and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said that BJP has decided to make Fadnavis the Chief Minister for the third time. Along with this, he advised Shinde to become a Union Minister or accept the post of Deputy CM in the state.
