Will Sanju Samson play for CSK in IPL 2026? Many teams were lagging behind for trade
The name of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals captain and star wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has suddenly been very much discussed in IPL trade discussions. According to media reports, several franchises including Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have shown deep interest in achieving Sanju before IPL 2026.
According to Cricbuzz report, speculation about Samson’s trade is not just social media opinion. There is a lot of interest in this, especially from CSK, who is currently looking for captain and wicketkeeping options for a long time after MS Dhoni. A senior CSK official has talked about the possibility of bringing Samson into his team which has become a topic of discussion on social media at this time.
A CSK official said, “We are considering Sanju. He is an Indian batsman who is both a keeper and opener. So if he is available, we will definitely consider the option to connect him with us. We will trade with whom we will trade, we have not yet decided because the matter has not moved so far. But yes, yes, we are quite interested in this trade.”
The IPL trading window is currently open and this window allows the franchise to trade players under strict guidelines. Players’ trade can only be done during the specified window, the first of which begins seven days after the 2025 season and lasts until seven days before the 2026 auction. A player can be traded only once for the upcoming season.
Explain that direct trade, trade with increased amount through conversation, trade with reduction in league fees, requires BCCI’s approval and written consent of the player. If a foreign player is involved in the trade, NOC is mandatory from the concerned board.
