New Delhi: Renowned actor Ayushmann Khurrana on Monday (February 26, 2024), during the second day of TV9 Network’s ‘What India Thinks Today’ Global Summit in the national capital, indulged in an interesting fireside chat on ‘Cinema For New India’ where he talked about his future plans in the industry and how he made an ideal Bollywood debut.

While discussing his foray into acting on the big screen, the 39-year-old star revealed that he turned down six scripts before finalising his inaugural theatrical project. “I am very grateful. The journey has been truly gratifying and blessed. I said no to six films before Vicky Donor because it was essential to hit a six on the first ball as I knew I wouldn’t get a second chance,” he said.

Ayushmann further said, “My late father once told me that if I wanted to be a superstar, I should choose super scripts that ushered in social change. So, I went for such scripts. I never believed in the ecosystem of hierarchy. These novel ideas took me to stardom. In the future, I will continue to take on roles that are relatable, portraying an ordinary man in extraordinary situations.”

The Andhadhun hunk mentioned that it is now India’s time on the global stage and explained how we can reach international viewers. “Everybody is looking at India right now. It is the best time to be an Indian. We should explore more rooted stories to reach a global audience. We have a vast country with its complexities,” he stated.
