Woman Linked To Karni Sena Chief's Murder Arrested From Jaipur
According to police, a woman who is purportedly connected to a criminal network was taken into custody on Monday in relation to the killing of Karni Sena leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
The three men—two of whom were shooters—who had been detained for their suspected roles in the case were produced before a local court and remanded to police custody for a period of seven days.
The gunmen, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore, as well as their accomplice, Udham Singh, were captured by police on Saturday night in Chandigarh's Sector 22.
Pooja Saini and her husband Mahendra Meghwal allegedly gave weapons to Fauji, who lived in the couple's rented apartment in the Jagatpura neighborhood of Jaipur for almost a week prior to carrying out the killing on December 5. Police said that Kota native Meghwal, also going by. the name Sameer, is fugitive.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, on November 28, Fauji arrived in Jaipur by taxi and met Meghwal, who drove him to the Jagatpura apartment.
According to police, Fauji maintained contact with gangster Rohit Godara via Meghwal.
It was through Meghwal that Fauji remained in touch with gangster Rohit Godara, police said.
Godara, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility for Gogamedi's killing in a Facebook post, saying the Karni Sena chief was backing his enemies.
