Indian cricket team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has overturned his decision to go from Mumbai to Goa. Yes, Jaiswal has taken a U-turn after a month after the No Objection Certificate (NOC) is sought and now he will continue to play domestic cricket for Mumbai. The 23 -year -old player has now written an email to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to withdraw his NOC and said that he is available to represent Mumbai for the next domestic season.

Jaiswal wrote in an email to MCA, “I, the signator below, request you to consider my request to withdraw the NOC given to me because I had some family plans to go to Goa, which is currently stopped. So I honestly request the MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai in this season.

However, the MCA has not yet taken any decision on this decision of Jaiswal. In April, Jaiswal surprised MCA officials by seeking NOC to go to Goa. Jaiswal cited personal reasons behind changing the base. Goa qualified for the knock-out phase of the Ranji Trophy. If Jaiswal proceeded to his plan to represent Goa, he would have led players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad.

Jaiswal has made a great start to his Test career and was the best Indian batsman with a century and two half-centuries during the previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. Jaiswal said that getting the role of leadership with Goa was the reason for this change. He said, “Goa has given me a new opportunity and has given me the role of leadership. My first goal will be to perform well for India and whenever I will not be on national duty, I will play for Goa and try to pursue them in the tournament. This was an (important) opportunity that came to me and I accepted it.”
