Indian cricket team opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, taking a big U turn, has decided that he will continue to represent Mumbai in domestic cricket. On Monday, June 30, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has accepted their request to cancel their NOC (NOC) to enter Goa team.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik confirmed this and expressed happiness over Jaiswal’s stay in Mumbai. Naik said, “Yashasvi has always been a glorious product of Mumbai cricket. We have accepted his application to withdraw NOC and will be available to represent Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season.”

Significantly, in April, Jaiswal surprised everyone by requesting to play for Goa. The Goa team was recently promoted from plate group to Elite Division in Ranji Trophy. There were reports that Jaiswal was looking at the role of the captaincy, especially when the head of the Goa Cricket Association publicly said that if this step is taken, the Indian opener would lead the team.

The MCA immediately approved Jaiswal’s request and it seemed that this left -handed batsman was ready to make changes. However, in May, Jaiswal informed the MCA about his decision to stay in Mumbai and requested that his NOC be canceled. In a letter to the association, Jaiswal said that his family had intended to transfer due to his plan to move to Goa but the plans were later stopped, which made the step unnecessary.

Jaiswal wrote, “I, I want to request you to consider my application to withdraw the NOC issued by me, as my family’s intention to move to Goa is at the moment.”
