‘Molested, force-fed beef’: Hindu girl’s ordeal sparks outrage in UP, probe ordered | Crime News
New Delhi: A Muslim man allegedly ensnared a Hindu girl through a love affair and eloped with her in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district. Upon discovering his intention to marry the girl, the man’s family forced her to convert to Islam. Shockingly, as part of the religious conversion process, the girl was allegedly forced into consuming beef. The victim, molested for an extended period, has filed a police complaint, prompting an investigation.
Accused met victim in Haryana
According to reports, the girl had been employed in Haryana, where she crossed paths with Sohil, also known as Shoaib, a Muslim resident of Firozabad. A couple of days later, Sohil, along with his family, allegedly persuaded the girl to accompany them, forcing her for religious conversion upon reaching their destination. The girl’s father revealed that she was force-fed beef when she resisted both conversion and marriage.
Police case registered
Having managed to escape, the girl returned to her family and narrated the ordeal. The accused family pursued her to the village, trying to forcibly reclaim her. However, Hindu organisations intervened, beat them up and subsequently handed them over to the police. The case has been officially registered by the victim’s family.
Hindu organisations protest
Outraged members of Hindu organisations protested at the police station, demanding justice for the victim. Responding to public outcry, the police have intensified efforts, registering a complaint encompassing serious offenses such as religious conversion and molestation. Authorities have assured that the accused and others will be arrested soon. Currently, steps are being taken to conduct a medical examination of the girl and record her statement.
Man accuses girlfriend’s family of forced religious conversion
Earlier this year, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh alleged forced religious conversion by his girlfriend’s family, claiming they drugged him and performed circumcision. Dharam Singh filed a complaint, seeking justice. Despite facing a counter molestation case, he approached authorities, including the SSP, citing a conspiracy. The SSP ordered a thorough investigation. Former mayor Shakuntala Bharti supported Singh’s claims, asserting evidence of deceptive conversion.
