A challenge for the selectors to choose talented and super selectors to choose rich cricketers!
Kanpur, May 20 (HS). The time for selecting the junior and senior cricket teams of Uttar Pradesh is near. In such a situation, the heartbeats of the talented cricketers of the state have also started increasing, while the rich and powerful cricketers are busy in other activities considering their place in the team as confirmed. Not only this, instead of honing his talent, he has also started the work of gathering contacts of many people with the aim of creating jugaad within the State Cricket Association.
Although the selection process for selecting the state cricket team is carried out under the supervision of a four-member selection committee, but for some years, the dominance of rich and powerful cricketers of the state is also being seen in the state cricket team. Now the selectors of the selection committee are seen sweating day and night in the field to select talented cricketers in the team, while the super selectors make their decisions over the phone itself to give place to the rich and powerful cricketers in the team. Earlier too, a case has been registered against the super selector for taking bribe to get entry into the team. According to union sources, orders for UPCA Junior, Senior and Women Selection Committee members to send their reports to the Super Selector were issued in the year 2020 itself.
It is worth noting that for the last several years, the selection of some rich and powerful cricketers instead of talented cricketers in the state cricket team also confirms this a bit. Those cricketers whom the selectors do not consider fit for the team during the selection process on the field, proudly present themselves in the training camp and put pressure on the selectors as well as the supporting staff. The super selector keeps the list of those cricketers with the agents appointed by him and they do the work of mediation to get the cricketers to the super.
Let us tell you that the selection of cricketers from the states adjoining the state in the state cricket team is working to demonstrate some of these things. For many years, super selectors have got players from states like Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan etc. selected in the state team. Although no one has any objection to players from outside the state, but due to this, talented cricketers from the state could not be included in the team, due to which the morale of many players was broken and they even retired from cricket. The former selector of the state said that now the selectors observe the talent of the best cricketers to choose the team on the field. And they keep supporting super rich and powerful cricketers. Regarding this, a member of UPCA said that in the next meeting all the members will be informed and instructions will be given to the selectors to select only talented cricketers.
