Haryana News: Due to the scorching heat in Haryana, holidays have been declared for schools in 11 districts. Schools up to class 8 will remain closed till May 24 in Hisar, Sirsa, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Rohtak, Rewari, Jind, Sonipat, Nuh and Panipat. Whereas in Charkhi Dadri, the administration has withdrawn the order regarding school closure. Schools will open here from May 21.

In view of the increasing heat, a letter has been issued by the Haryana Directorate of School Education to all the Deputy Commissioners of the state. In this, DCs of all the districts have been given the power to close schools due to extreme heat.

On the other hand, red alert of heat wave has been issued in 11 districts of Haryana till May 23. These include Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri. Apart from these, there is orange alert in 11 districts. These include Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat and Jind.

At the same time, in view of the increasing heat, the Punjab government has announced holidays in the schools of the state from May 21 to June 30. Due to heat, holidays have been announced 8 days before the scheduled schedule. Apart from this, the timing of schools in Himachal Pradesh has been changed. All schools in Kangra district will now open at 7:30 am and will be dismissed at 1 pm. DC Kangra Hemraj Bairwa issued orders regarding this today.

Chandigarh's temperature reached near 45
The situation is bad in Chandigarh also. The maximum temperature here has crossed 44 degrees. An increase of 0.5 degrees has been recorded in the day temperature in 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility that the temperature here will cross 45 in a day or two.

Red alert in 2 districts of Punjab
There is red alert of heat wave in 4 districts of Punjab. These include Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa. Orange alert has been issued for the remaining districts.

School timings changed in Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh
In view of the scorching heat, the timing of schools in Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh has been changed. In Punjab, from May 20 to May 31, all government, aided and private schools will open from 7 am to 12 noon.

Similarly, in Haryana too, schools will open at 7 am and close at 12 noon. Chandigarh has also issued an advisory and announced change in school timings. Schools will now open from 7 am to 12 noon only.

Alert in 6 districts of Himachal
There is a heat wave alert in 6 districts of Himachal also. These include Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, Kangra and Sirmaur. The heat is also increasing in tourist places Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri and Manali. The temperature in Shimla has reached 29.5 degrees Celsius, an increase of 4.5 degrees above normal.

On the other hand, the mercury in Manali also increased by 2 degrees from normal to 27 degrees, Kufri to 23.9 degrees and Narkanda to 23.6 degrees.
