Imran Khan Party leader Gohar Khan says PTI does not hold backdoor talks with anyone

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is not talking to anyone behind the scenes. PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar Khan has given this statement amid reports of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's talks with the army and political forces.

Gauhar Khan, while addressing reporters after meeting 71-year-old party founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail, said that the former Prime Minister has only asked for names for talks, till now no one has been talked to.

The Express Tribune newspaper quoted Gauhar as saying, 'Today the jail administration banned the PTI party founder from addressing the media while many of our lawyers were not allowed to enter the jail.'

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has been acquitted of all charges, while the PTI founder is being punished in fabricated cases. Referring to her meeting with Imran Khan, Gauhar said, 'Police is being used against our party. Maryam Nawaz wearing police uniform gives the message that the police is under her control.

PTI party leader Sher Afzal Marwat, who was present with Gauhar, said that Imran Khan criticized the appointment of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as Deputy Prime Minister and called him Nawaz's frontman. Marwat said, 'Talks are going on for the selection of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the final decision will be announced tomorrow.' Marwat's name is also in discussion for this post. On the question of reports of former PTI leaders rejoining the party, the leader said that only Imran Khan will take the final decision on this issue.
