Inspector arrested on charges of embezzlement of crores of rupees in Haryana, ACB took major action

Chandigarh 4th December. The team of Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau today presented Food Inspector Kapil Dev of Food and Supplies Controller Department in the court in the embezzlement case of Rs 2.43 crore from where he was sent to judicial custody. There was a reward of ₹ 5000 on Kapil Dev.

Giving information about this, the spokesperson of Anti Corruption Bureau said that the accused Kapil Dev was working as Inspector in the Food and Supplies Controller Department in District Assandh from the year 2019 to 2021. During this period, 6165 quintals of wheat rotted and got spoiled in the godown which was also declared unfit by FCI. Apart from this, there are also allegations of accused Kapil Dev reducing the supply of wheat to FCI.

During interrogation, the accused told that he had invested Rs 92 lakh in property. The matter is being investigated by seizing all the necessary documents. The case is being investigated by registering a case against the accused under various sections.

The spokesperson said that in this case, a reward of ₹ 5000 was also placed on the accused Kapil Dev by the Karnal Unit of Anti Corruption Bureau. In this case, joint action by the STF team and Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau was successful in arresting the accused on 2 December 2023. After this, accused Kapil Dev was sent on one day police remand. After this, on Monday the accused was presented in the court and sent to judicial custody.
