New Delhi, May 20 (Hindustan Reporter) The interview of eligible candidates for the post of Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest bank, will be held on Tuesday. The selection will be done by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), which selects directors of public sector banks and financial institutions.
FSIB will interview eligible candidates to replace current State Bank of India Chairman Dinesh Khara on Tuesday, May 21, sources said on Monday. Dinesh Khara will retire from the post of Chairman of SBI on completion of 63 years of age on August 28, 2024.
It is noteworthy that FSIB is headed by Bhanu Pratap Sharma, former secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT). The selection panel appointed by the Central Government includes the Financial Services Secretary, the Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises and a Deputy Governor of the RBI. Apart from this, former Chairman and Managing Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce Animesh Chauhan, former Executive Director of RBI Deepak Singhal and former Managing Director of ING Vysya Bank Shailendra Bhandari are also included in the Bureau.
