33-year-old Zoharan Mammadani was born to South Asian parents’ home in Uganda. He came to America at the age of 7 in 1998 and became an American citizen in 2018. Many Republican leaders are now demanding the cancellation of their citizenship. If Mamdani wins elections, he will be the first Muslim mayor of New York City.
