Police raid on long running gambling dens in Katangi-Chargawan, 16 gambling dens arrested, Rs 1.66 lakh seized news in hindi
Palpal correspondent, Jabalpur. Late night, the police raided the gambling dens that were going on for a long time in Katangi and Belkheda located in Jabalpur of MP. Due to police raid, there was a stampede among the gamblers. Police arrested 16 gamblers from the spot and seized Rs 1 lakh 66 thousand 90, seven mobile phones and torches.
In this regard, Katangi TI Pooja Upadhyay said that as soon as the news of gambling being run in Panchampura behind Nai Bazaar was received, the Crime Branch team along with Katangi Police raided it. As soon as they saw the police, there was a stampede among the gamblers. Police arrested Sukhdev Yadav resident of Premnagar Katangi, Sonu Jain resident of Ward No. 10 Jhanda Chowk Katangi, Abdullah alias Raja Khan resident of New Bazaar Katangi, Manaklal alias Monu Rajak resident of Ward No. 05 Katangi behind high school, Sharda Vishwakarma resident near bus stand Katangi from the spot. Rajkumar alias Munna Patel resident of Ward No. 03 Premnagar Katangi, Vivek Singh Rajput resident of Panchampura Ward No. 06 Katangi were arrested and Rs 1 lakh 47 thousand 390 and seven mobile phones were seized. SI Satish Jharia, Prabhakar Singh, head constable Abhishek, Jagendra Kumar, Abdul Kalam, Raju Kumar, Jagannath Prajapati, Rajesh Kumar Raidas and assistant sub-inspector of Katangi police station Karan Singh Chaudhary played a commendable role in catching the gamblers.

Similarly, the police raided a gambling racket going on in a kutcha house on the banks of Ghugra Road in village Dharampura. Police arrested Naresh Rai, Shyamlal Patail resident of village Dharampura, Sharda Patail, Santosh Vishwakarma and seized Rs 10,300. Police has also exposed the gambling racket going on near Yogesh Rai’s dairy. Police have arrested Mukesh Vishwakarma resident of village Bichua, Ritesh Sahu, Yogesh Rai, Yogendra Rai resident of village Dharampura, Raju Gotiya resident of village Nunpur. Police seized Rs 8 thousand 400 from the accused.
