Washington, May 21 (HS). US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday pledged to continue sending American arms to the Eastern European country, which is battling Russian attacks.
Austin and about 50 defense ministers from Europe and around the world are meeting on Monday to coordinate efforts to send more military aid to Ukraine, which is trying to fend off a Russian assault in the northeast by launching its own major offensive on the Russian-occupied Crimea peninsula.
The US Defense Minister said that we are meeting at a moment of challenge. He said Russia's renewed attack on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv shows why it is necessary to continue sending arms to Ukraine.
