Shakarpur double murder: The accused Shreyansh Pal killed his wife Kamlesh Holker (29) and his brother-in-law Ram Avatar (18) in his apartment. Three hours later, Pal surrendered before the police. He was arrested and taken for questioning.

New Delhi: A 30-year-old techie has allegedly stabbed his wife and brother-in-law to death in Shakarpur area of East Delhi’s, police said on Wednesday. The accused, who is identified as Shreyansh Pal, later fled the scene of crime.

Pal killed his wife Kamlesh Holker (29) and his brother-in-law Ram Avatar (18) in his apartment. Three hours later, Pal surrendered before the police. He was arrested and taken for questioning.

Panic in Delhi’s Shakarpur after double murder

The incident sent shockwaves through the Shakarpur neighbourhood in the morning when people learned that a man murdered his wife and brother-in-law. The accused, Shreyansh, also known as Shrey, works for an IT company.

Pal’s wife Kamlesh worked as a teacher at a school in UP’s Sahibabad. She and her brother hailed from Mathura. The double murder came to light after Pal’s father went to wake him up on the above floor. He saw his grandson sleeping on the bed while Kamlesh and her brother’s bodies were lying on the floor.

Accused Shreyansh Pal allegedly mentally ill

Pal’s father raised an alarm and local residents reached the spot and informed police. According to the police, a few hours after the murder, the suspect returned home and surrendered.

Pal’s two-year-old son’s birthday was to take place on the April 19. Kamlesh’s brother Ram Avtar had come home to join birthday celebrations. It is now being said that Pal was mentally ‘ill’.

Police officials said they are interrogating the suspect to find out the actual cause of the gruesome murders.
