Mid Day Meal and Asha workers of Punjab doing duty in Lok Sabha elections will be given honorarium allowance at the rate of Rs 200 per day. This information has been given by Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that mid-day meal workers will be on duty to prepare food for polling parties and Asha workers will be deployed at polling booths on the day of voting on June 1. With this, immediate assistance can be provided to any polling staff or voter who comes to the booth if his health becomes unwell. Asha workers will also be given an honorarium of Rs 200 per day on the lines of mid-day meal workers. For this, a letter has been issued to all the District Election Officers-cum-Deputy Commissioners.

Payment of honorarium to polling personnel in MP also

As per the instructions of Indore Collector and District Election Officer Ashish Singh, the District Election Office has started the process of prompt payment of honorarium to the officers and employees engaged in the Lok Sabha elections. The CEO of Indore Development Authority and the in-charge of training have started the process from Sunday evening as per the instructions of the Collector. Bills for honorarium have been deposited in the treasury itself. The amount has started reaching the accounts of the concerned officers and employees from Monday Tuesday.

For this, the names and bank details of the officers and employees appointed there were already obtained from all the nodal officers and Assistant Returning Officers. More than 9 thousand officers and employees were on duty in the seven assemblies of Ujjain district for the voting of Lok Sabha elections. On the instructions of Collector Neerajkumar Singh, payment of honorarium to the officers and employees of the polling parties was started, even before returning after completing the elections, due to which the amount has started reaching from Tuesday.
