Summary of weather forecast of South-West Monsoon:- According to the first forecast of the first South-West Monsoon 2024 by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today on April 15, there is a possibility of good monsoon rains in the country due to the weakening of El Nino.
In the monsoon forecast released today, IMD said that during the southwest monsoon this year in the country, the average monsoon rainfall between June 1 and September 30 is likely to be more than 870 mm by 106 percent.
That is, the monsoon of 2024 is likely to be above normal, with only 5 percent more or less rainfall expected.
The main reason for possible more rain in the south-west monsoon is the gradual weakening of El Nino conditions and there is a possibility of La Nino conditions becoming good between August-September.
Another reason for a potentially good monsoon is that IOD/dipole conditions over the Indian Ocean are now neutral and climate model predictions suggest that they will become more severe during the southwest monsoon.
There is a possibility of it being positive due to which there is a possibility of more monsoon rains in most areas of the country.
Like every year, the India Meteorological Department will release a revised south-west monsoon forecast in the last week of May 2024, in which the possibility of rain is given region-wise. These monsoon forecasts will be helpful in sowing and growth of Kharif crops and in higher yield. Are proven.
