Re-polling ordered on May 2 at a polling booth in Ajmer

Jaipur, April 30 (IANS). The Election Commission of India on Tuesday ordered re-polling on May 2 at a polling booth in Nandasi village under Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan.

Voting was held in Ajmer on April 26 in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Praveen Gupta said re-polling will be held on Thursday (May 2) from 7 am to 5 pm. At the booth located under polling station number 195 of Masuda assembly constituency.

Gupta also said that election officials have made all preparations for re-polling as per the instructions of the ECI.

He said the 17-A register, in which voters sign, had somehow gone missing, necessitating re-polling. Action has been taken by the Returning Officer against the polling officers responsible for this lapse.
