Moscow, December 5 (HS). Amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Major General Vladimir Zavadsky, the deputy commander of Russia's 14th Army Corps, was killed in Ukraine. Russia confirmed this on Monday.

Russia's Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev said that Major General Vladimir Zavadsky has died. Describing it as a huge loss, the Governor said, he was a disciplined officer who had also been a tank commander. The Ukraine war has reached the end of its second year in what Russia calls a special military operation.

Zavadsky is the seventh major general Russia has confirmed to die since the war began, according to investigative news outlet Istories. In total, 12 senior officers have died since the war began. Military analysts see this as a success for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force said on Monday that 23 drones and one cruise missile were fired from Russia during the night. Claimed that 18 of these drones and missiles were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense system before reaching the target. Said on Telegram app that anti-aircraft defense is deployed in nine regions.

The Biden administration on Monday sent a letter to Congress with a note of urgent warning to approve $10 billion for military and economic assistance to Ukraine. It was told that this will help in protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression.

In the letter sent to the leaders of the House of Representatives and the Senate and in the statement issued, it has been said that it is necessary for this help to reach Ukraine before the end of the year.
