On the first day, on Friday, Maulana Jamshed Saheb of Uttar Pradesh gave a speech. It is estimated that 10 lakh people will gather in the four-day Ijtima, while around one thousand Jamaats will participate. This time too, groups from many countries except Pakistan have reached the capital Bhopal. These include groups from other countries including America, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Jordan, Afghanistan, Canada. Due to bad political relations with the neighboring country, not a single group has participated. Some restrictions have been imposed for the people coming to the Ijtima. According to this, entry is not being given in the Ijtima without registration, and there is a ban on the use of polythene and beedi cigarettes at the Ijtima venue.

In the four-day Ijtima, there will be discussions every day from 6 am, which will continue till Ishaan Namaz. In the Ijtima, people will be provided free tea and eggs from Isha prayers in the night till Fajr prayers in the morning. 65 parking lots have been made in Ijtima. Arrangements have been made for parking of 2 to 5 thousand vehicles in each parking lot. Apart from serving the people present in the pandal, 20 thousand volunteers engaged in making arrangements for the Ijtima are looking after their food, cleanliness, parking and other arrangements.

This is the 75th year of organizing Ijtima in Bhopal. About one thousand Jamaats from across the country will participate in it. Many Jamaat had reached Bhopal a week ago and the arrival of the rest is continuing. For the Ijtima, huge pandals have been made in an area of more than 300 acres, where arrangements have been made for the congregation to stay. This time around 10 lakh people are expected to gather in the Ijtima in four days.

Senior journalist and expert on Islamic affairs, Dr. Mehtab Alam told that the Ijtima in Bhopal was started in 1947, when four people from the Muslim community decided that the message of Quran and faith should be given to the community. Together, these people started the Ijtima in Ghati Bhadbhuja area of the then Bhopal, but the very next year they shifted from there to Atta Shuja Khan's Mosque in 1948. Ijtima was held here for two years. Then from 1950, this gathering started taking place in Tajul Masjid. Tajul Masjid is one of the largest mosques in Asia. This gathering continued to take place here till 2001. In view of the continuously increasing number of Jamaats in Ijtima, it started being organized in Brick Khedi, Bhopal from 2002. During the Ijtima, an entire city is established here in Ghosipura.
