Mumbai/New Delhi, April 17 (HS). The stock market, foreign exchange market and commodity market remained closed on Wednesday due to holiday on the occasion of Ram Navami. The stock market will now trade on Thursday. However, Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will be trading after 5 pm.

In the list of stock market holidays released for the year 2024, 17th April Ram Navami has been declared as an official holiday. Due to this, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) remained closed, due to which there was no trending in the stock exchange. According to BSE, Equity, Equity Derivatives, SLB and Currency Derivatives and Interest Rate Derivatives segments will also remain closed for trading today.

Apart from this, banks are also closed in most of the states on the occasion of Ram Navami. However, the commodity derivatives segment on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will remain closed for the morning session but will be open for the evening session. MCX will open and trading after 5 pm, which will close at 11:55 pm. It is noteworthy that due to holiday on Ram Navami, banks are closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
